VLOGMASS DAY 1
If you are early, you are on time. If you are on time, you are late.”
― Lik Hock Yap Ivan
What will you do if you miss your flight on Saturday? What will be your first feeling? Let be honest babes.
Stressed? Frustrated? Shocked or teary? Choose one.
Hello, kuks fam!
How yall doing? It’s a festive season but things are happening so careful in all your doings. I have had my fair share of flight brouhaha and as yall know this blog is all about sharing practical life experiences to inspire, entertain and inform.
I spent 4 hours in less than 2 hours journey from Sunyani to Kumasi airport on the 12TH December 2019. which was Saturday. Your sis missed her flight.
Advice for first-time visitors in Kumasi: The traffic is a real deal so plan 2 hours ahead of time.
I was shaking and confused, I literally got out of the cab without checking my bag, LOL, the bolt driver had to make a second U-turn to bring back my bag.
The passengers were boarding, so why can’t they let me in?
Oh my God, please do something! This was my rant honestly.
Backstory from Koforidua: I actually woke up around 5:am as I usually do. But the mistake I made was to check my flight time.
I suck at checking flight time and all that, so I mostly have to revisit my mail to confirm by departure time, of which I did around 8:am in the morning.
I beg the last passenger of the bus from Sunyani and was even willing to pay 20gh as compensation but he refused.
It was my first time going to Sunyani with a commercial car so I didn’t anticipate all that traffic because I normally go in a private car.
The traffic started in less than 30min to Kumasi which I anticipated reaching the airport by 12noon.
As smart as I was, I decided to get down and pick a taxi to the airport because of the slow passenger drop off.
Big up to the cab driver, we got there in less than 10 minutes to 1 pm but I was already late.
The boarding flight call was 40 minutes to the departure time.
So my initial flight was 1:10 -1:40 to Accra but I ended up getting the 4:50 pm flight which landed in Accra at 5:30.

To add salt to injury, I decided to find solace in meat pie which I bought in the name of sitting close to the check-in area {your girl was actually scared to even sit in the waiting area. Lol)
For someone who has not eaten meat pie for almost a year, I didn’t even realize I was eating that pie because I was stressed.
By the time I said jack! Half was almost gone. LOL
Honestly, I regretted taking that meat pie but that is how frustration can change your level. I think it advisable to book a flight via agent so you don’t go through all the hustle in solving some awkward situations like mine. I actually got a bit earlier flight because my agent communicated with the airline but when I personally went to their counter, I was told the second flight was full.

THINGS TO KNOW WHEN YOU MISS YOUR FIGHT
 You possibly get a late flight.
 You are charged an unpardonable fare difference.
 You pay for a crazy lateness fee (that was useless in my opinion}

HOW TO MANAGE STRESS WHEN YOU MISS YOUR FLIGHT

  • Take a deep breath.
  • Don’t try to control what is uncontrollable by blaming yourself or anybody.
  • Sit quietly for 60 seconds before your talk or ask any questions.
  • Speak only to those who can help you and not passengers.
  • Act kool and smile more.
  • cry silently if you want to.

I hope this article informs, inspire and entertains that reader who really needs it.
peace out!
